Katie Jeffrey-Lunn, the owner of
FitNutrition, LLC, is a registered dietitian (RD)
& certified specialist in sports dietetics (CSSD)
who holds an M.S. in Nutritional Sciences.  
Additionally, she is a certified dietitian in
Connecticut and is licensed in Rhode Island.

Katie earned her B.A. in Sociology from Fairfield University
where she played Division I field hockey.  She worked for over
two years at the Pfizer, Inc. corporate fitness center where she
taught exercise group classes and assisted the Wellness manager,
a registered dietitian, and the Sports and Recreation Manager.  

Katie returned to school to pursue her career goals of nutrition,
wellness and physical activity.  She earned her M.S. in
Nutritional Sciences at the University of Connecticut.  
About Us
Katie completed her dietetic internship at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford.  The internship provided her with
broad field experience in hospital, long-term care, and outpatient facilities as well as community nutrition, corporate
and sports programs.  Katie was then eligible to sit for a national board examination which is passed and therefore,  
received the credentials R.D. (registered dietitian).

Katie is also a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) and owner of FitNutrition, LLC in both
Old Lyme and Stonington, CT.  Her mission is to form a team with individuals to provide education, promote
health and physical activity, and develop realistic, attainable lifestyle and nutrition goals that match client’s
unique needs.  

Katie has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.  She specializes in performance nutrition
counseling.  Katie also enjoys individual nutrition counseling and giving educational presentations.  She has
provided sports nutrition presentations for high school and college athletes.  These presentations included
topics such as the importance of hydration and fluid selection, pre- and post-exercise meals and snacks, the
importance of fueling and re-feuling the body before, during, and after exercise, basic nutrition, portion control
and serving sizes.  She has also provided additional nutrition presentations on healthy lunches/snacks for
school-aged children, healthy holiday eating, basic nutrition, portion control and serving sizes, and healthy
baking/cooking.  

As a registered dietitian, Katie determines energy and nutrient needs; teaches sports nutritional concepts,
serving sizes, and meal planning to athletes and teams; provides meal plans, basic and/or specific nutrition
information to special populations; offers information on mindful eating; works with clients to develop
strategies to achieve lifestyle modifications; and, analyzes cafeteria and restaurant menus for schools, athletes
and training tables.

Katie is honored to be the sports dietitian for Providence College athletes in Providence, Rhode Island.  
Katie has given numerous health and wellness presentations on a variety of nutrition topics to school-aged
children, college students, teachers, business employees, and athletes.  

Katie is excited to be working with Alicia Farrell, Ph.D., a cognitive psychologist, to offer an empowering
workshop series called Fit Body, Fit Mind that provides scientifically based practical ways to keep one’s
brain healthy as they age, how nutrition and exercise influence brain health and memory techniques to improve
thinking.  Fit Body, Fit Mind is great for anyone over 25.  

Katie is a columnist for The Mystic and Stonington Times, Jovial Foods blog, and has contributed to both
Active.com and SuperKids Nutrition websites.  She is also a consultant for Hall Neighborhood House, Inc. in
Bridgeport, CT, Ledge Light Health District in Groton, CT and Wellness Concepts, Inc., in New York, NY.

Katie is member of the American Dietetic Association, the Connecticut Dietetic Association, SCAN (Sports,
Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionists) and NE (Nutrition Entrepreneurs Private Practice Specialty
Group).

In her spare time, Katie enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves the outdoors and stays in
shape by cycling, running, swimming, weight lifting, competing in triathlons, and hiking.  One of her favorite
hobbies is healthy baking and cooking.  She loves baking for family and friends, especially her husband.  
Katie is constantly experimenting with recipes to make them healthier without compromising taste.
